Pros & Cons
Comfort:
One of the greatest feature of the Schwinn 220 is the relaxed position it offers during exercise workouts. It comes as a surprise how comfortable Schwinn 220 Recumbent Bike can get with its recumbent engineering design and ergonomic pedals. The console can be maneuvered to suit your position and the seat can be adjusted to your comfort. The Schwinn 220 Recumbent Bike recumbent exercise bike step-through frame gives added maximum convenience compared to other mount-over models. Its padded seat adjusts in the fore/aft positions to accommodate a variety of positions for multiple users.
The Schwinn recumbent bike 220 seat and handlebars are adjustable, in the front and rear portions. The seat is also very wide and padded to increase your comfort level while working up a sweat and it is larger than other exercise bikes -excellent for those with knee or leg problems or for those who need to recover from injuries
An excellent aspect of the Schwinn 220 Recumbent Bike is that it is capable of handling larger people than an average fitness bike, being rated at a 300 lb. limit. This weight limit can be surpassed, but it’s not recommend exceeding the limit by over 50 pounds, just for safety’s sake.
The pedal is ergonomic, for efficiency and comfort.
Operating the Schwinn 220 Recumbent Bike is astonishingly quiet and gives the user a smooth ride and extremely comfortable.
A very nice feature is also the In-console speakers and MP3 music input port, with holders for magazines, ebooks or other media.
Schwinn 220 Recumbent Bike Workout:
Schwinn 220 Recumbent Bike is completely silent and it comes with 12 workout programs, including 6 course profiles, fitness test, and custom workout, also with 16 resistance levels and quiet magnetic ECB resistance. Eddy Current Brake will slow the movement by creating eddy currents through electromagnetic induction which create resistance, meaning that the faster the wheels are spinning, the stopping motion is smoother. The ECB technology works using an aluminum disk that spins freely between two variable magnetic fields, so there are no moving parts and no friction is created. Because it is an electromagnetic braking system, it is not only quiet and smooth, it responds quickly to new settings selected by the user, it is extremely durable, and there are no service issues.
With Schwinn 220 Recumbent Bike you can get the same aerobic benefits as an outdoor leisure bike ride to a more highly effective fitness workout all in the comfort of your own home.
Its padded seat adjusts in the fore/aft positions to accommodate a variety of positions for multiple users.
Schwinn 220 Recumbent Bike over sized stabilizers and levelers prevent the unit from wobbling or shaking as you pedal, especially at higher resistance levels or during tougher workouts. Also, the console is can be maneuvered to suit your position and the seat can be adjusted to your comfort and liking, so workout in a relaxed position with increased lower back support and with minimum strain.
Assembly:
If you’ll study the Schwinn 220 Recumbent Bike manual for a while- simple and clear, just a lot of diagrams, the assembly is simple, too. The instructions are clear and straightforward, and all the tools, nuts, bolts and screws are included in a blister pack – don’t remove the parts before you need them as they are all labeled.
Some of the cables are fastened by rubber band or plastic wire ties – do not remove the rubber bands or ties until you have the parts connected, otherwise you will have to fish the cable from the tubing and it’s not easy.
Usually, the Schwinn 220 Recumbent Bike assembly is ready in about 60 minutes.
Console and monitoring system:
Schwinn 220 Recumbent Bike features also an integrated grip heart rate system for easy fitness monitoring on the handlebar grips, so you can easily keep track of your exercise progress. It includes 12 various workout programs and 16 resistance levels to cater to a wide range of fitness level needs.
The new oversized digital display on this fitness bike shows a variety of aspects of your workout: heart rate, distance, time, and speed are measured while you work out by the Schwinn 220 Recumbent Exercise Bike. One portion of the display keeps track of how much Fat/Calories you have burned while you are exercising.
Unfortunatelly, Schwinn 220 Recumbent Bike doesn’t have an easy-to-read console. The LCD Display has no back light and uses a fine font and this makes it difficult to read, sometimes.
A nice feature is the build-in console speakers and MP3 music input port, magazine rack.

Customer Reviews
I recently bought this bike to replace a previous Schwinn recumbent bike (that broke of no fault of the manufacturer, mine entirely) I was very pleased with my previous Schwinn and wanted another one. It is comfortable and very quiet, the display can be hard to read in a bright or dark room as it is not back lit but seeing as how I just hit quick start, click up till I hit a good resistance level and then watch tv it hasn’t bothered me to much.
